JOIN THE MOVEMENT! 5 WAYS YOU CAN HELP

MIDDLE OF NOWHERE

Directed by Ava DuVernay

October 19-25, 2012

AMC Southcenter, Tukwila

5 WAYS TO HELP!

1) BE A REVOLUTIONARY FOR $11 dollars!!

Join Black film lovers in Seattle, LA, Philly, ATL, New York, Chicago and more as we stand together to revolutionize Black film distribution. Attend MIDDLE OF NOWHERE’s matinee, early afternoon, evening & late night screenings at AMC Southcenter, starting October 19 – October 25, 2012 – OPENING WEEKEND IS CRITICAL

Support this release — the African-American Film Festival Releasing Movement (AFFRM), a grassroots collective fostering and furthering Black Independent film.  Success for MIDDLE OF NOWHERE in October means AFFRM can release another quality black film independently in Spring.  We don’t need Hollywood studios to give permission to release our films theatrically!  We can do it ourselves!

2) GET YOUR GROUP ON !!

Organize a group to see the film on a specific night!  Get your family, a group of friends, your church ministry, fraternity/sorority or your co-workers together to see MIDDLE OF NOWHERE opening weekend Friday, October 19.  Change cinema while bonding with loved ones right here in Seattle!

3)  JOIN THE STREET TEAM !!

As you go about your day, drop off MIDDLE OF NOWHERE postcards and other collateral to your local coffee shop, bookstore, church, salon/barbershop, community center and like-minded retail establishments!  Help us get MIDDLE OF NOWHERE to our brothers and sisters! Stop by Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center 104 17th Ave. S. Seattle to pick up postcards.

4) BE A DIGITIAL SOCIALITE !!

Join our Social Media Team and post images, videos, status updates and tweets on your personal blog, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, MySpace, YouTube and Flickr pages!  We need you! www.facebook.com/langstonblackfilmfest @lhaaff #middleofnowhere

5) BE OUR GUIDE !!

Are you skilled in a certain area that might help us on this mission?  What is your talent?  Do have connections to marketing or promotional opportunities that might help the cause?  Do you know a printer who will lend some copies?  Do you have a friend with the great email blast list?  Is there a place in your neighborhood that will run the trailer in their store?  Are you great at graphic design?  Tell us your talent, your connections, your interest.  We welcome your ideas and advice!
